What is Zumba?
Zumba is the Latin inspired dance fitness party that has taken the world by storm! Using rhythms from Latin America and around the world (like Salsa, Samba and Bollywood), and mixing their infectious music and simple steps with interval training techniques, a Zumba class will get the hips shaking, the heart pumping, the whole body toning and you’ll have fun doing it – not to mention you can burn around 750 calories in an hour’s class!
Our choreography is specifically designed to engage all participants, regardless of whether you are joining a class from a dance background, other fitness classes, or simply as a first step to a healthier, fitter you. All you have to do is find a spot in the room from which you can see the instructor, copy their easy to follow cues and before you know it you’ll be shaking everything you’ve got, partying hard and working your body without even knowing it.
What do I need to wear/bring withme?
As far as clothing goes, comfort and freedom are the key words – make sure you are wearing items that are comfortable for you and give you as much freedom of movement as possible. You will also need to wear under-garments that will provide support enough to suit you. Indoor Trainers or similar footwear is recommended, ideally something that supports the whole foot and doesn’t have too much grip on the sole (running trainers are not great as they are designed primarily to propel you forwards and support the heel of the foot from impact).
We always recommend bringing a bottle of water and a towel, after all, the more fun you have, the harder you’ll work and the more you’ll need them! There are drinks facilities at most of our venues should you forget your water or need to top up your bottle.
